HISTORY OF THE JUNK MAN
Anthony “Junk Man” Auriemma began his passage at around the age of five with his Uncle who owned his own Scrap business. After years of being mentored and learning the trade of the business, Anthony began picking up on the profit end of the business. Years later, at a Long Island Flea Market with his aunt, Anthony observed a gentleman selling scrap automotive parts. What caught his attention was a high torque GM starter in which Anthony knew the exact value of. Anthony began bartering with him and with the help of some cash flow from his aunt, he was able to walk away with a purchase. On the next workday, Anthony brought the material over to his Uncle, sold it, and made his first profit. From this day forward, Anthony had sparked a journey that would lead into the growth of a prestigious and prominent business.
Auriemma Scrap was initially established in 1977 with one truck, one man, and a dream to prosper. Through passion and the will to succeed, Anthony began purchasing scrap in Brooklyn, NY acquiring material from gas stations and other vendors of automotive cores and scrap metal. After years of hard work and dedication Anthony had evolved his business by expanding into the prominent New Jersey/New York City area. As Anthony excelled in business so did his equipment. By this time he had already added multiple vehicles to his fleet and serviced an abundance of scrap dealers throughout the surrounding area. Anthony continued to flourish for years to come specializing specifically in Catalytic Converters and Automotive Cores. He began building the countless relationships that we still occupy to this day.
